Loans Library launched; teacher resources return

The Durham Regional Heritage Fair is pleased to be able to launch our new Loans Library. A selection of Historica-produced CDs and DVDs, including the Historica Minutes DVD and Historica Radio Minutes, are available for loan for Durham teachers.

All of the items in the Durham Regional Heritage Fair Loans Library are available free-of-charge for as long as needed. Teachers in the Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic School Board will receive items through the Board courier.

We thank former DRHF Chairperson Jenn Maddigan for donating each of the items available in the Library. View the entire list of available items here.

The online resource bank of teacher-contributed black line masters and planning ideas is also online. Click here to see our teacher-contributed resource bank.

School registration open for 2012 Durham Regional Heritage Fair

The Durham Regional Heritage Fair is now accepting school registrations for the 2012 Fair that is set for April 25, 2012 at the Durham District School Board Education Centre in Whitby. All Durham, Ontario schools are welcome to register. We understand it’s early in the school year and things may change. Please register based on the information you have now (as all fields are required in order to give the committee planning details). We will be seeking confirmation in the months to come. Any major changes in your registration should be communicated via email at info@durhamheritagefair.ca.

Please be advised that teacher supervision is required for the full day on April 25. DRHF does not supply coverage for teachers to attend the event. Supply needs for this day should be communicated to your administrator prior to registration. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Registration closes December 15, 2010.

Fall 2011 Update

Welcome to the new online home (and look) of the Durham Regional Heritage Fair! We’re happy to re-launch the site and hope to offer some  additional resources and helpful tools to both returning teachers and teachers who may be looking to join us for the first time.

The 2011-2012 committee met in September to set action plans for the upcoming months. If you’d like to join us, please get in touch. We’d love to have you!

If you haven’t been up to date with the DRHF in the past couple of months, you should know about some significant internal changes that have meant some re-organization of our committee. Regardless of the committee changes, we anticipate another great fair this year! Read a note from this year’s committee after the break.

Further details about this year’s fair, as well as additional resources and school registration will be added to the site in the coming days. Please feel free to follow our Twitter feed for all the latest details sent right to your timeline.
