Information Session for Teachers

The Durham Regional Heritage Fair will be hosting an Information Session for teachers that are anticipating running the Fair program at their school this year. The sessions will emphasis ways to connect the Heritage Fair to the new social studies & History curriculum and how it links to the Inquiry expectations. Support material for linking Heritage Fair to the inquiry process will be provided. Details and suggestions on how to run the Fair at the school level will also be presented, as well as ways to integrate technology into the process.

Teachers who have previously participated in the Fair are also encouraged to attend to share their experience, and to discuss ways to modify their previous experience with the Fair to fit with the inquiry process outlined in the new social studies/History curriculum.

The Information Session will be held at Southwood Park PS in Ajax on December 2 from 4:15-6:15. Light refreshments will be provided.

DDSB teachers can sign up for the session via PD Place (pdplace.ddsb.ca). Non-DDSB teachers should RSVP to info@durhamheritagefair.ca.
